The Bluffton Cross Country Team welcomes you to the “Race for Josh 5K Run/Walk.” Help support the Josh George Memorial Fund, and run for a great cause!

Indoor Cycling Training for Off Season Conditioning: hosted by Michele Niles of Beach City Health & Fitness.
This training program will be held over a 6-week session beginning Monday October 12th.
Week 1: Proper technique, ie: training for higher cadence (90 RPM and above), mastering the circular pedal stroke, proper shifting while maintaining cadence, relaxed upper body.
Week 2: Application of these 3 elements using NXT Spinner Bikes
Week 3: Build on above, introduce Time Trialing/Endurance techniques; begin drills for improving these two elements of cycling. (Lactate Threshold Endurance)
Week 4: Increased time on drills, and simulation of an individual TT
Week 5: Climbing techniques (Phosphate Shunting & Muscle Endurance)
Week 6: Mountain Class

Join us tomorrow October 10th for the Island Rec Center’s Kids Triathlon.
• Ages 8 & Under: swim 50 yards, bike 3.2 miles, run .8 mile
• Ages 9-10: swim 100 yards, bike 3.2 miles, run .8 mile
• Ages 11-12: swim 150 yards, bike 6.4 miles, run .8 mile
• Ages 13-14: swim 200 yards, bike 8 miles, run 1.6 miles
This is a great event for many young athletes! Join us tomorrow by volunteering to help body mark and assist in the transition area. Please arrive by 7:45. We need everyone’s support to help show these kids and their parents what we love about the sport!!!
